Our process
Our process: how we manage your project
Good building depends on good management. Every Wesmarc project follows the same process, so you always know what is happening, what comes next and who to call.
Who this suits
Anyone comparing builders and wanting to understand how we run a project.
Communication and schedule updates
You have one point of contact from the first call to the final walkthrough. You receive a written schedule and regular updates on progress, upcoming decisions and anything that affects timing.
Organized, safe worksites
Sites are kept clean and organized, existing finishes and neighbouring property are protected, and safe work practices apply to everyone on site.
Documented scope and change management
The agreed scope is written down. If something changes, by your choice or because of conditions found on site, the change is described and priced in writing and approved before the work proceeds.
Inspections and quality checks
We coordinate municipal and engineering inspections, and our supervisors check each stage of work before it is covered up.
Deficiencies and close-out
Before handover we walk the project with you and record any follow-up items. We take responsibility for closing them out. We are also often asked to assess and fix work left unfinished by other contractors, and we document those problems clearly before quoting the repair.
The 2-5-10 home warranty
Every new home we build is enrolled in BC's 2-5-10 home warranty: 2 years on materials and labour, 5 years on the building envelope and 10 years on structure. At handover you receive your warranty documents and a maintenance guide. Renovations are not covered by the provincial program.
Where we work
Frequently asked questions
Can you take over a project another contractor left unfinished?
Yes. We review drawings, permits and the work completed, document what needs fixing, and give you a written plan and price to finish.
Is the 2-5-10 warranty transferable if I sell?
Yes. The warranty stays with the home for the remainder of the term.
